Currently we are requiring 10 days to process prescription requests due to the high volume of demand on our system.
If you are on medicines regularly these can be obtained, Monday to Friday, giving 72 hours notice please, by:
- Ordering online - please click here
- Using the Personal Re-order Form. There is an express drop-off box at the first reception desk for your use.
- Writing, or calling at the Practice during office hours. By enclosing a stamped addressed envelope your prescriptions will be posted to you.
- Several local pharmacies provide a prescription collection service - please indicate on your request if you wish a pharmacy to collect your prescription.
Please help the receptionist and yourself by remembering the following key points when requesting a repeat prescription:
Prescriptions should normally be available for collection within 72 hours.
If you are posting and requesting a posted return allow extra days for the possible Royal Mail delays.
We cannot take repeat prescription requests over the telephone.
Why? Patient safety is paramount at Kingsmills Medical Practice and it is recognized nationally that 'phone requests are more likely to result in transcription errors.
How will I request my prescription? We would encourage patients to either hand in, or post, the reorder slip supplied with their prescription, or use our online prescription request service HERE
What if I need medication not on my reorder slip? Write the name and the dose of the medication onto the reorder slip, and the doctor will assess your request.
What if I can't get to the surgery and don't have a computer? Post your reorder slip to us, and if you indicate, then your chemist can collect the prescription from the surgery for you.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
